The alleged femicide of the Mexican singer Yrma Lydya, Jesus Hernandez Alcocerdenied in his statement that he shot his wife to death last Thursday, June 23, in a luxurious restaurant in Mexico City.
The young interpreter, just 21 years old, was killed by three bullet wounds while holding a meeting with her husband in the suntory restaurantsupposedly where both finalized the details of their divorce.
Hernández Alcocer, 79, and who is already in unofficial pretrial detention in the Northern Men’s Preventive Prison, he told the authorities that he was not to blame for the artist’s femicide, despite the fact that witnesses point to him as being responsible for having fired three times while the couple argued.

This Sunday, June 26, the first hearing of Yrma Lydya’s husband was held, who was arrested by the police along with his escort minutes after allegedly having perpetrated the crime.
In court, Hernández Alcocer denied having killed his wife and explained that “strange people” did it who intended to extort money from the singer, who participated in the musical show Great Goddesses alongside figures such as Dulce and Alicia Villarreal.
At the end of the hearing, the control judge ordered preventive detention. and charged him with femicide. The man had asked the authority to be allowed to carry out the process at his home, arguing his age and a series of chronic-degenerative diseases, however, his request was rejected.
A scheduled second hearing for him next Thursday June 30.
Regarding the murder weapon, the head of the Mexico City police, Omar Garcia Harfuch, confirmed that the prosecution secured the weapon used to commit the crime. This, after versions began to circulate that pointed to his disappearance.
“It did not disappear, after a diligence carried out by the authorities, the Mexico City Attorney General’s Office has a seized weapon that corresponds to the characteristics of the weapon that was used in the unfortunate femicide,” tweeted the public servant.
