If the X-Men saga has left you with doubts regarding the chronology of the time that their stories have, here we explain how the different realities take place
Let’s be honest, there are a couple of things that seem easy, but are too complex, the first is cooking a fried egg and the second is understanding the continuity of the X-Men movies.

We don’t have explanations or tips for you to prepare a fried egg, but we can explain how the X-Men movies are intertwined, without complicating your life.

Warning: From this paragraph there could be some spoilers for almost all the X-Men movies, so if you haven’t seen any, the recommendation is to watch (at least) the first seven movies that have been released.
First of all, let’s remember how the X-Men movies were released, in chronological order, including X-Men: Dark Phoenix, from 2019

Now, from this timeline let’s remember that the events of X-Men: Days of the Future Past alter the timeline of many events, and that led to the change of some historical facts as well as a few inconsistencies, and different timelines.
In this way, the time line that was established was as follows, according to the passages of the films:
Year 3500 BC – X-Men: Apocalypse
We know of the existence of En Sabah Nur, the first mutant in history, and the most powerful ever seen.
1845 – 1918 –X-Men Origins: Wolverine
We meet James Howlet, who will eventually be known as Wolverine, who runs away from home with his half brother, Sabrethoot. Both fought in the United States Civil War and in World War I.
1944 – X-Men: First Class
In a mansion located in the Westchester area, the boy Charles Xavier meets a young woman named Raven, both of whom have mutant powers.
Charles gets his family to adopt Raven, who will eventually be known as Mystique. While in Poland, Erik Lehnsherr (Magneto) develops his mutant powers in a concentration camp.
1944 –X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Logan and Sabrethoot find themselves fighting in World War II. Both take part in D-Day off the coast of Normandy.
[1945–TheWolverine
Logan is a prisoner of war in Nagasaki, at the time when the United States drops an atomic bomb. Wolverine manages to save a Japanese officer named Yashida, who in gratitude gave him his saber.
1962- X-Men: First Class
Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr meet and join forces to stop former Nazi soldier Sebastian Shaw.
Charles and Erik recruit a team of mutants to face the threat of Shaw, who is neutralized in Cuba, during the missile crisis, where the armies of the United States and the Soviet Union try to exterminate the mutants, Erik prevents and seeks to destroy the warships, which prevents Charles Xavier, who is disabled because of Magneto.
1973 – X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Logan and Sabrethoot fight in Vietnam. Sabretooh tries to rape a Vietnamese woman, but kills an officer who prevented him from carrying out the act. Logan defends Sabretooh and they are both arrested and sentenced to death, but William Stryker rescues them to be part of a special team.
1973 – X-Men: Days of the Future Past
Sent from the future, thanks to Kitty Pride, to his younger self, Wolverine convinces Charles Xavier and Magneto to stop Mystique, who was planning to kill scientist Bolivar Trask, the man behind the creation of the Sentinels.
Wolverine is defeated by Erik, who sends him into a river, Charles stops Mystique from killing Trask.
1979 –X-Men Origins: Wolverine
After the (fake) murder of Wolverine’s girlfriend, at the hands of Sabrethoot, William Stryker convinces Logan to undergo an experiment where adamantium is injected into his bones, allowing him to have metal claws.
Wolverine thwarts Stryker’s plans to create an army of mutants, but Stryker shoots Logan in the head with an adamantium bullet, causing him to have amnesia.
1983 – X-Men: Apocalypse
In Sabah Nur he is awakened from a centuries-old sleep and seeks to dominate the world with the help of his four horsemen of the Apocalypse (Archangel, Storm, Phsylocke and Magneto). Charles Xavier runs the school for gifted youngsters, where Cyclops meets a young Jean Grey.
In Sabah Nur he kidnaps Xavier, with the idea of transferring his being into Charles’s body. Cyclops, Jean Grey, Mystique, and Nightcrawler defeat two of the Four Horsemen. Storm and Magneto come to their senses and join the student side to defeat En Sabah Nur.
After these events, the idea of forming the X-Men as a group of heroes at the service of society, which is still reluctant to the idea of living with mutants, is resumed.
1992 – X-Men: Dark Phoenix
Now as a group admired by society, the X-Men go on a mission to space to save the crew of a shuttle.
In the course of the rescue, a cosmic force seizes Jean Grey, who sees her powers increased. This Phoenix force is sought by an alien race called the D’Bari, commanded by Vuk, who plans to take that force to wipe out the planet.
2000-X-Men
Wolverine meets Rogue, both are rescued by Cyclops and Storm, after an attack by Sabrethoot. Both are accepted into Charles Xavier’s School for Mutants.
Magneto kidnaps Rogue, who is instrumental in turning world leaders into mutants. The X-Men arrest Magneto at the Statue of Liberty and sent to a maximum security prison.
2003 – X-Men 2
The X-Men and the Brotherhood of Mutants, led by Magneto, unite when William Stryker develops a machine to kill mutants. Jean Gray sacrifices herself to help the X-Men escape at Alkali Lake.
2006 – X-Men: The Last Stand
Worthington Laboratories develop a cure for the mutation, so Magneto seeks to end said company. After believing him dead, Jean Gray returns as a more powerful mutant, calling herself Phoenix.
Magneto manages to convince Phoenix to join his cause and take down Worthington Laboratories on Alcatraz. The Brotherhood of Mutants attacks the island, but they are stopped by the X-Men. Phoenix begins to destroy the place and the people, so Wolverine kills her to avoid a catastrophe.
2013: The Wolverine
Logan, unable to get over Jean’s death, travels to Japan at the request of Yashida, the Japanese officer he saved in World War II, who is now a dying businessman.
Yashida asks Logan for his powers to live longer and give Wolverine a dignified death. Logan does not accept, but is infected by a bacterium that neutralizes his power to heal immediately.
After discovering the cause for which he does not heal quickly, Logan manages to remove the organism that interfered with his mutation to stop Viper and Yashida, but not before losing the adamantium of his organism.
2015: The Wolverine
Magneto and Charles Xavier ask Logan for help in the face of the threat posed by the impending evolution of the Sentinels.
2016: Deadpool
Wade Wilson, a former Special Operations mercenary, undergoes an experiment where he seeks to cure himself of terminal cancer in the liver, lungs, prostate and brain.
These experiments give him healing powers, which transforms him into Deadpool, an anti-hero who seeks revenge on the man who caused the mutation and deformed his face.
2018: Deadpool 2
Wade Wilson seeks to assuage the pain after Vanessa’s death, first by joining the X-Men, and later by forming a mutant force called the X-Force, which aims to defend a mutant named Russell from the hands of Cable, a traveler. in time, who plans to assassinate him.
2023: X-Men: Days of the Future Past
In what seemed a bleak outlook for mutants and humans alike, due to their gradual extinction at the hands of the Sentinels, Charles Xavier and Magneto track down Kitty Pride and other mutants to send Logan’s consciousness back in time.
With the changes in the timeline Jean Grey, Cyclops and Charles Xavier are still alive, and Logan is a history teacher at the School for Mutants.
Days of the Future past is considered one of the best X-Men movies at this stage
2029 Logan
Following an event on the east coast of the United States, few mutants remain alive. Logan makes a living as a limo driver and cares for an ailing Charles Xavier, with the help of Caliban.
The appearance of Laura, an 11-year-old girl, changes Logan’s plans, who must save Laura, whether he likes it or not.
2030: The New Mutants
Five young mutants are admitted for psychiatric observation in an isolated hospital.
After a series of strange events, their new abilities as mutants, and their friendships, will be put to the test as they fight to get out of there alive, before the Essex organization kills them.
According to the chronology, this is considered the last of the films in the entire X-Men saga, characters that will have a reboot within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
