One of the great absentees from ‘Matrix Resurrections’ was Laurence Fishburne, since the actor who gave life to Morpheus in the first three installments of the science fiction saga did not resume his role in the fourth. On that occasion he was Yahya Abdul-Mateen II who gave life to a new iteration of the character. Now Fishburne has broken his silence to give his opinion on the film directed by lana wachowski.

The Fishburne Verdict

Fishburne was on the red carpet for the presentation of ‘The School of Good and Evil’, Netflix’s great attempt to get a franchise in the style of ‘Harry Potter’, where he was asked by a reporter from Variety about whether he had seen ‘Matrix Resurrections’. After admitting that yes, the actor expressed his opinion:

It’s not as bad as I thought it would be and it’s not as good as I expected it to be. But I think Carrie-Anne Moss and Keanu Reeves really did their thing and that’s what I think.

Fishburne also confessed that did not miss participating in the film, for which at no time did they offer him the possibility of doing so, as he himself clarified two years ago. Now we will have to see if these statements of yours lead to someone else involved in the franchise commenting on it. For my part, I would love to hear the opinion of Hugo Weavingwho was initially going to return as Agent Smith but was ultimately unable to do so due to a scheduling issue.

What is clear is that the general public was not too interested in ‘Matrix Resurrections’Well, it barely raised 157 million dollars when it had cost 190. And yes, it premiered on HBO Max simultaneously, but so did other titles like ‘Dune’ or ‘Godzilla vs Kong’, and both entered much more at the box office.
