International media reported the death of Mahsa Amini, 22, a young Iranian woman who died on September 16 after being detained and taken to a police station by Tehran’s morality police. This fateful event has shocked women and personalities from all over the world, who have joined the wave of protests.<\/p>\n

The “serious crime” that led to Mahsa’s unjust loss of life was failure to wear the hijab properly, as it is understood that wearing the veil too low and not fully covering the head are grounds for arrest. After her arrest, on September 13, the young woman remained unconscious for three days when she was the victim of a beating that caused her to go into a coma.<\/p>\n

It was Mahsa’s relatives who confirmed that the young woman died at Kasra Hospital in Tehran as a result of a heart attack and a cerebral coma. Her brother Kiarash testified to what happened that day. The man indicated that Mahsa was stopped in the middle of the street and transferred in a police vehicle. In addition, they told her that they would take her to the police station to do a “re-education” class and that in an hour she would be free of her.<\/p>\n

However, this was not the case, because about two hours after her arrest, the girl ended up in a hospital where, later, the doctors informed her family that she was brain dead. It is worth mentioning that Mahsa and her family, originally from the city of Saqqez, in the west of the country, were on vacation in the Iranian capital.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the authorities have not clarified what really happened to the young woman during the time she was in the hands of the officers. However, activists and users of social networks denounce that the woman was the victim of a brutal beating.<\/p>\n

In addition, due to the fact that thousands of Iranians and activists have shown their discontent, President Ebrahim Raisi ordered that the relevant investigations be launched to reveal the real causes of Amini’s death, for which the Ministry of the Interior and the Tehran prosecutor they are already working on it.<\/p>\n
