For this reason, the actress made the decision to do activism to show the original peoples and their representation on the screen. <\/p>\n<p><center\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cIn Presencias, I had a close relationship with Jos\u00fae Maychi, Norma Pablo and Gerardo Taracena, we were happy to play characters different from those they always offered, characters far from stereotypes<\/strong>.  They took us by the hand and gave us the opportunity to get away from pigeonholed characters, it is also a challenge to show that we can, &#8220;said the actress. <\/p>\n<p>After <em>Rome<\/em>Yalitza did not want to take on certain projects that were proposed to her, she was ready to record again and was <em>presences<\/em> the option that you liked the most,<strong> \u201cIt is true that you never stop learning and it has been wonderful to go through terror and face my own fears, Paulina is very different from what I did in Rome and I am happy to have overcome my fears\u201d,<\/strong> said. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe title=\"Presencias - Tr\u00e1iler Final (Vix Plus)\" width=\"788\" height=\"443\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/F1HGPj9acGk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>According to the film&#8217;s director Luis Mandoki, the good representation of characters on screen is a really important topic;  and he assured that<strong> \u201cWhen we were in rehearsals talking about Paulina, I asked Yalitza questions and she told me, &#8216;yes, I am a woman from the village, but I am a rebellious woman, because I am not married, I do not allow a man to want to impose me&#8217;\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>  \u201cAnd it is, Paulina is a free, independent character, that&#8217;s why she has her store in town, <strong>She is a character that comes out of the clich\u00e9 of the woman from the village, she has a motorcycle and swims alone in the lake, she does what she likes without anyone stopping her\u201d,<\/strong> added the director about the character of Yalitza Aparicio.<\/p>\n<p>With this story, Luis Mandoki makes his debut in horror movies, after more than a decade without directing, he chose <em>presences<\/em> to return with all the changes that require facing a new genre for him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was interested in seeing what worked and what didn&#8217;t, <strong>I saw many movies that tried to scare me and for some reason it didn&#8217;t work, but I focused on the elements that did have an effect on me, I realized that terror works in the subconscious<\/strong> and how much or little you show something, it was all a study to venture into terror, &#8220;explained Luis Mandoki. <\/p>\n<p><strong><em>presences<\/em> It is part of the list of films that the Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences has in view to send as an Oscar representation.<\/strong> Along with this story, Yalitza is preparing to premiere <em>the spookys<\/em>a series created by Fred Armisen (SNL) in which he shares the screen with Cassandra Ciangherotti and Bernardo Velasco.<\/p>\n<p><center\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>You may also be interested in:<br \/><\/strong>\u2013Yalitza Aparicio gets her first tattoo after fulfilling the conditions that her mother set for her<br \/>\u2013Yalitza Aparicio shows off her Oaxacan beauty with a sophisticated braided look for a magazine cover<br \/>\u2013VIDEO Yalitza Aparicio responds to her haters on TikTok singing &#8220;I&#8217;m worth it&#8221;\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yalitza Aparicio, star of the movie Roma.
