They were Locom\u00eda (which could also be written separately) and theirs is a story of success, betrayal, jealousy, homophobia and oblivion.  oh!  And electropop, a lot of electropop seasoned with choreographies that had huge fans as protagonists.<\/p>\n<p><!-- BREAK 1 --><\/p>\n<div class=\"article-asset article-asset-normal article-asset-center\">\n<div class=\"desvio-container\">\n<div class=\"desvio\">\n<div class=\"desvio-figure js-desvio-figure\">\n<p>     <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>\u201cDisco, Ibiza, Locomoy.  Fashion, Ibiza, Locomoy.  Loco, Ibiza, Locomia\u201d<\/strong>its great <em>hit<\/em> I had no loss.  Their handwriting pointed to the only thing that needed to be known: what their names were and that they were here for the party.  The lyrics were not precisely the strength of his proposal.  It was the costumes (always good shoulder pads and excess), it was his dances never seen before (or since), it was his presence of handsome boys&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><!-- BREAK 2 --> <\/p>\n<p>The band was created in 1983 as a group of fashion designers made up of <strong>Xavier Font, Manuel Arjona<\/strong>, <strong>louis font<\/strong> Y <strong>Gard Passchier<\/strong>.  These last two would abandon and would be replaced later by <strong>Carlos Armas and Juan Antonio Fuentes. <\/strong>He would also end up leaving the Xavier group and enter in his place <strong>Francis Picas.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- BREAK 3 --><\/p>\n<h2>The biggest soap opera ever danced<\/h2>\n<p>First they dazzled in the Ibizan night and, when the manager Jos\u00e9 Luis Gil discovers them and promises them success, they will have to assume <strong>an ambiguous sexual identity<\/strong> in a Spain in which homosexuality was not well seen.  However, the promise was real and things went very well for Locom\u00eda, hitting him not only in our country but also in Latin America.<\/p>\n<p><!-- BREAK 4 --><\/p>\n<p>Two albums and hits like <em>Rumba Samba Mambo<\/em>, <em>crazy mine<\/em>, <em>Crazy Vox<\/em>, <em>Gorbachev<\/em> Y <em>Little girl <\/em>led them to tour with great success in Latin America but, when they were at the top, <strong>the group ended its musical career due to differences with its manager <\/strong>and not because the public got tired of them.<\/p>\n<p><!-- BREAK 5 --><\/p>\n<div class=\"article-asset-video article-asset-normal\">\n<div class=\"asset-content\">\n<p>\n   <iframe title=\"Locomia-locomia\" width=\"788\" height=\"591\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/k00rMX9GFR0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n  <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>By this time, Xavier Font no longer had control over the group he had created.  Gil had taken it from him.  The Locomias landed in America with Xavier relegated to driving his friends back and forth.  Also, <strong>the founder of the group suspected that Gil is stealing from them <\/strong>and persuaded the rest of his companions to break their contract with him.<\/p>\n<p><!-- BREAK 6 --><\/p>\n<p>However, Gil sued them for ownership of the &#8220;Loco M\u00eda&#8221; brand, thus making it impossible for them to present themselves as a group.  It was 1993 and each member then continued their path independently.  Finally,<strong> the lawsuit over ownership of the &#8220;Loco M\u00eda&#8221; brand was resolved in Font&#8217;s favor.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- BREAK 7 --><\/p>\n<h2>Second generation of Loco Mia<\/h2>\n<p>In that same year, the new members of the formation appeared as the second generation: Antonio Abella, Pablo Robledo, Frank Romero and Luis Font (brother of Xavier Font).  They released the third album, <em>Party Time and <\/em>Romero would leave the group in 1995, being replaced by San Balibrea.<strong> This formation would continue until 1997<\/strong>when the band would say goodbye with a concert in the Sala Galileo Galilei.<\/p>\n<p><!-- BREAK 8 --><\/p>\n<div class=\"article-asset article-asset-normal article-asset-center\">\n<div class=\"desvio-container\">\n<div class=\"desvio\">\n<div class=\"desvio-figure js-desvio-figure\">\n<p>     <img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"The Spanish DJ who has made history at Tomorrowland, the world's largest music festival \" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i.blogs.es\/467eea\/b-jones-tomorrowland\/375_142.jpeg?w=788&#038;ssl=1\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>However, that was not the end of Locom\u00eda either.  In 1999 Font managed to contact Francesc, Santos and Carlos so that, together with Manuel, they would form the group again.  they recorded <em>Samba Passion<\/em> in three different versions and Santos left the formation, which made Juan Antonio Fuentes return.  That is<strong> they were the original four members again<\/strong>.  However, everything was in some performances on television and again the formation was diluted.<\/p>\n<p><!-- BREAK 9 --><\/p>\n<p>As if it were Ross and Rachel, the group has been since then and until now getting back together and separating again.  With the song <em>Music, <\/em>for instance,<em><strong> <\/strong><\/em><strong>appeared at Eurosong 2001<\/strong>, the pre-selection of that year to elect the Eurovision representative.  However, they were ranked 17th out of 20, with only 4 points. The same year, but on July 16, Frank Romero also did so due to a bacterial infection.
