{"id":86420,"date":"2022-08-31T06:03:49","date_gmt":"2022-08-31T00:33:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.imageantra.com\/actress-of-zoey-101-protests-at-nickelodeon-for-child-abuse\/"},"modified":"2022-08-31T06:03:49","modified_gmt":"2022-08-31T00:33:49","slug":"actress-of-zoey-101-protests-at-nickelodeon-for-child-abuse","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.imageantra.com\/actress-of-zoey-101-protests-at-nickelodeon-for-child-abuse\/","title":{"rendered":"Actress of &#8216;Zoey 101&#8217; protests at Nickelodeon for child abuse"},"content":{"rendered":"<div itemprop=\"text\">\n<p>On August 25, former Nickelodeon child star Alexa Nikolas and 30 members of her group calling themselves Eat Predators gathered outside Nickelodeon studios to protest alleged child abuse by Nickelodeon executives.<\/p>\n<p>Protesters chanted &#8220;Protect survivors, not predators.&#8221;  In addition, they demanded that anyone who has experienced sexual abuse at Nickelodeon be released from any confidentiality agreements.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>However, the majority of the condemnations were directed at Dan Schneider, creator of<em> Zoe 10<\/em>1, along with other popular Nick shows, including <em>icarly<\/em>, <em>victorious<\/em> Y<em> Drake &#038; Josh<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Alexa&#8217;s protest, best known for starring in the popular <em>Show<\/em> childish <em>Zoey 101<\/em> alongside Jamie Lynn Spears, comes shortly after the release of the former star&#8217;s memoir <em>icarly <\/em>Jennette mccurdy, <em>I&#8217;m Glad My Mom Died<\/em> (I&#8217;m glad my mom is dead.)<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-602778\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.okchicas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/301185470_321245520188039_453894101726114341_n-730x506.jpg?resize=730%2C506&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Alexa Nikolas, ex-Zoey 101 actress protests outside Nickelodeon against child abuse\" width=\"730\" height=\"506\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.okchicas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/301185470_321245520188039_453894101726114341_n-730x506.jpg?resize=730%2C506&#038;ssl=1 730w, https:\/\/www.okchicas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/301185470_321245520188039_453894101726114341_n-400x277.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.okchicas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/301185470_321245520188039_453894101726114341_n.jpg 1080w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><\/p>\n<p>In her book, Jennette addressed an intimidating Nickelodeon figure known as &#8220;The Creator&#8221; who goaded her into drinking alcohol and photographed her in a bikini while underage.  In addition, she confessed that her executives offered her 300 thousand dollars not to speak publicly about her time on the famous television channel.<\/p>\n<p>During the protest organized by Alexa, the 30-year-old actress told the TMZ portal that during her visit to <em>Zoey 101<\/em> &#8220;She didn&#8217;t feel safe.&#8221;  Additionally, she detailed the alleged abuse she suffered at the hands of Nickelodeon executives.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"&#039;Zoey 101&#039; Star Alexa Nikolas Protests Unsafe Work Environment At Nickelodeon | TMZ\" width=\"788\" height=\"443\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KIWeSAcrTTg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>I didn&#8217;t feel safe on Nickelodeon as a kid.  I didn&#8217;t feel safe with Dan Schneider.  Every time I came to the set, my body would get extremely tense.  Later in the second season [de \u2018Zoey 101\u2019], he and a group of executives made me cry alone in a room.
