Cassandra Webb is the most important Madame Web, however, the one who brings Dakota Johnson to life would be another character according to the images of the set.

Little by little, what has been assumed is confirmed: that the version of Madame Web that Dakota Johnson will play in the cinema will not be Cassandra Webb, but the Spider-Woman who took the mantle of the old psychic: Julia Carpenter.

In the comics, the first Madame Web was Cassandra Webb, an elderly woman who was blind and suffered from myasthenia gravis that left her in a wheelchair, but with powers of clairvoyance that made her an ally of Spider-Man, as well as being able to guide the wall-crawler to understand the Web of Life, that force that shapes and connects the Spider-Verse.

Cassandra was kidnapped by Ana Kravinoff and her mother Sasha was killed in her attempt to revive Kraven. Before she died, Cassandra transferred her powers to Julia Carpenter, the second Spider-Woman, leaving her the mantle of Madame Web. Cassandra Webb was created by Denny O’Neil and John Romita, Jr. for 1980’s The Amazing Spider-Man #210.
