This would be the first doll of her type in the company&#8217;s history, a fact that has been applauded by various collective groups and minorities.<\/p>\n<p>This new Barbie is inspired by actress, producer and LGBT rights advocate Laverne Cox and is very similar to her, with a dark skin tone, brown eyes and a muscular build.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The doll is part of Barbie&#8217;s Tribute Collection line, which celebrates those who have made a mark on culture with their contributions.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>pioneer. In honor of her 50th birthday, Barbie is thrilled to welcome @LaverneCox as the newest doll to the #Barbie Tribute Collection, recognizing her impact on television, film, fashion and the LGBTQ+ community.
