{"id":49697,"date":"2022-05-25T20:37:44","date_gmt":"2022-05-25T15:07:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.imageantra.com\/this-was-the-copy-of-top-gun-with-nicolas-cage-with-a-panty-on-his-head\/"},"modified":"2022-05-25T20:37:44","modified_gmt":"2022-05-25T15:07:44","slug":"this-was-the-copy-of-top-gun-with-nicolas-cage-with-a-panty-on-his-head","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.imageantra.com\/this-was-the-copy-of-top-gun-with-nicolas-cage-with-a-panty-on-his-head\/","title":{"rendered":"This was the copy of Top Gun with Nicolas Cage with a panty on his head"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>With the advent of &#8216;Top Gun: Maverick&#8217; in all theaters, some may question the success of the original film in its day, but there may be no better proof than <strong>study the trace he left in the different imitations and Hollywood attempts to repeat the success of Tony Scott&#8217;s classic<\/strong>including films like &#8216;Steel Eagle&#8217; (1986) and the version with combat helicopters, &#8216;<strong>fire birds<\/strong>&#8216; (Fire Birds, 1990) which was piloted by\u2026 Nicolas Cage.<\/p>\n<p>Cage&#8217;s career up to that point hadn&#8217;t yet taken the wacky detours it would take in the same decade, but casting him as Tom Cruise&#8217;s lookalike in a derivative version of the original is something that can only happen in the American film industry.  Wasting charisma and bravado \u2014<strong>Who better to reinterpret the arrogant character of Tom Cruise?<\/strong>\u2014 and his budding movie star magnetism, Cage plays Jake Preston, a Maverick reproduction who pilots a helicopter instead of a fighter like no one else, but other than that, <strong>they are practically the same character<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><!-- BREAK 1 --><br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>But if Maverick is a smug jerk, <strong>Preston is straight up sleazy, egomaniacal, and sexist.<\/strong>, in the words of his romantic interest and ex-girlfriend Billie, played by Sean Young, is &#8220;Neanderthal trash,&#8221; a leading man so intensely unpleasant that he&#8217;s an anomaly in an action movie of his time, but he comes across differently with the actor. from &#8216;Mandy&#8217; to the front.  It&#8217;s actually one of those roles that he plays the larger-than-life villain, only he gets to be the hero.<\/p>\n<h2>A reproduction of &#8216;Top Gun&#8217; step by step<\/h2>\n<div class=\"article-asset-image article-asset-normal\">\n<div class=\"asset-content\">\n<div class=\"base-wrapper-image\" style=\"padding-top:56.214285714286%;\">\n                 <br \/>\n  <noscript><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Credits\" class=\"centro_sinmarco\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i.blogs.es\/c277b5\/creditos\/450_1000.jpeg?w=788&#038;ssl=1\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><\/noscript><\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&#8216;Firebirds&#8217; opens with a quote from drug war-obsessed President George HW Bush who didn&#8217;t mind sending big planes and helicopters against the cartels, making this movie a kind of glorifying justification for the U.S. military. America and how whatever they do is right. At the time, the actor wasn&#8217;t a dour, twilight Oscar winner but a tough action hero, and here he joins the slapstick with comic book enthusiasm that elevates the film into an infectious B-series.<\/p>\n<p><!-- BREAK 3 --><\/p>\n<div class=\"article-asset article-asset-normal article-asset-center\">\n<div class=\"desvio-container\">\n<div class=\"desvio\">\n<div class=\"desvio-figure js-desvio-figure\">\n<p>     <img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"The 23 best war movies of all time\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i.blogs.es\/12201b\/belicas\/375_142.jpeg?w=788&#038;ssl=1\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Produced by Disney through Touchtone Pictures<\/h2>\n<p>But of course, &#8216;Firebirds&#8217; is a good container of select Cage moments, like the training simulation sequence where he screams repeatedly. <em>&#8220;I&#8217;m the best!&#8221;<\/em>and the best of all, <strong>an aspiring classic of the Cage meme with the actor driving a military jeep while blindfolded and wearing red panties<\/strong> strapped to his face as he laughs like a freak.
