Exceptional films are always found in their selection, and some of them sometimes win the most important prize of the contest, <strong>the palm of gold<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><!-- BREAK 1 --><\/p>\n<p>With the celebration of the new edition of the French festival, we review <strong>some of the great winners of this prestigious Palme d&#8217;Or that can be seen on streaming platforms<\/strong>. The last one was &#8216;Parasite&#8217; in 2020, but its predecessors go back at least 60 years before.  One was &#8216;Days without trace&#8217;, by Billy Wilder.  The other, the relatively obscured &#8216;<strong>Marty<\/strong>&#8216;, an <strong>exquisite drama starring Ernest Borgnine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><!-- BREAK 4 --><\/p>\n<div class=\"article-asset article-asset-normal article-asset-center\">\n<div class=\"desvio-container\">\n<div class=\"desvio\">\n<div class=\"desvio-figure js-desvio-figure\">\n<p>     <img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Oscar: all the films in history that have won Best Picture\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i.blogs.es\/f963fc\/peliculas-ganadoras-oscar\/375_142.jpg?w=788&#038;ssl=1\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Borgnine plays a forty-year-old butcher unlucky in love who still lives with his mother.  He is shy and somewhat clumsy, but still tries every night he can.  One day, he meets an insecure and shy girl like him (Betsy Blair), and during that night an unexpected and intense romance begins. In fact, Luis Bu\u00f1uel&#8217;s film was not released in Spain until 1977, once Franco died, and he had to pass himself off as Mexican in order to overcome various obstacles and censorship.<\/p>\n<p><!-- BREAK 8 --><\/p>\n<div class=\"article-asset article-asset-normal article-asset-center\">\n<div class=\"desvio-container\">\n<div class=\"desvio\">\n<div class=\"desvio-figure js-desvio-figure\">\n<p>     <img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Luis Bu\u00f1uel, the most universal Spanish filmmaker\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i.blogs.es\/1b7571\/sunuelismo_650\/375_142.jpg?w=788&#038;ssl=1\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>It&#8217;s easy to see why he can flake conservatives out of &#8220;neatness&#8221; and &#8220;decency,&#8221; because &#8216;<strong>Viridiana<\/strong>&#8216; is a very <strong>stark against religion and oppression of the underprivileged classes<\/strong>. It is <strong>an ambitious story<\/strong>but manages to land those ambitions without committing to easy solutions, giving one of the best behind-the-scenes glimpses of the world it depicts.<\/p>\n<p><!-- BREAK 12 --><\/p>\n<div class=\"article-asset article-asset-normal article-asset-center\">\n<div class=\"desvio-container\">\n<div class=\"desvio\">\n<div class=\"desvio-figure js-desvio-figure\">\n<p>     <img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"The 21 Greatest Musical Movies of All Time\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i.blogs.es\/ec5aca\/mejores-musicales\/375_142.jpeg?w=788&#038;ssl=1\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Cannes could not resist acknowledging Fosse&#8217;s impressive work, which he found in a dedicated <strong>roy scheider<\/strong> the key to be able to open the channel, counting <strong>his existential doubts, his problems and his fears together with his great moments of luxury<\/strong>. An uncertain road trip -real and from life- that reveals very powerful and unexpected emotional weapons.<\/p>\n<p><!-- BREAK 16 --><\/p>\n<div class=\"article-asset article-asset-normal article-asset-center\">\n<div class=\"desvio-container\">\n<div class=\"desvio\">\n<div class=\"desvio-figure js-desvio-figure\">\n<p>     <img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"What to watch on Netflix: one of the best stories dedicated to mothers and one of the best films by Pedro Almod\u00f3var\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i.blogs.es\/213bc7\/volver-2006-penelope-cruz-pedro-almodovar\/375_142.jpg?w=788&#038;ssl=1\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Wenders&#8217; film oozes humanity, even if it can be eccentric.  An <strong>elegant work full of emotion<\/strong>, even if not abused to be tear-producing.
