This is based on the results of the latest research presented at a Japanese Ministry of Health panel meeting.<\/p>\n<p>According to <em>Japanese Times, <\/em>On Friday, Professor Hiroshi Nishiura of Kyoto University told the ministry&#8217;s coronavirus advisory board that countries with high numbers of omicron infections, such as the UK and the US, have relatively high numbers of cases of acute childhood hepatitis.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>According to the media, the World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed 348 possible cases of acute hepatitis in children worldwide and only six countries reported more than five cases.<\/p>\n<p>According to the professor, a history of infection with the \u00f3micron strain may have an effect on the outbreak of acute childhood hepatitis.  This theory linking SARS-COV-2 to the hepatitis outbreak has already been raised by other health agencies and is being investigated.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-567443\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.okchicas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/np_file_158203-730x548.jpeg?resize=730%2C548&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Acute childhood hepatitis\" width=\"730\" height=\"548\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.okchicas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/np_file_158203-730x548.jpeg?resize=730%2C548&#038;ssl=1 730w, https:\/\/www.okchicas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/np_file_158203-400x300.jpeg 400w, https:\/\/www.okchicas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/np_file_158203-1536x1152.jpeg 1536w, https:\/\/www.okchicas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/np_file_158203.jpeg 2000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><\/p>\n<p>In a statement issued on April 23, the WHO said there was no link between the disease and the vaccines used against covid-19, as the vast majority of infected children had not been vaccinated against the coronavirus.<\/p>\n<p>However, the strongest hypothesis to date is that the disease is caused by an adenovirus, which has been detected in at least 74 cases.
