According to the latest Gleeden report, in LGBTIQ+ pride month, up to 65% of Mexicans believe that if there were no moral, cultural or religious barriers, everyone could be bisexual. In addition, 20% of those surveyed, despite identifying as heterosexual, had never considered the possibility of having sexual interest in both sexes.

The survey, carried out among 10,55 users of the platform, reveals that although the new generations are more open-minded about their sexuality, labels still prevail in a large part of society.

“Society, at its rapid and adaptive pace, is modifying, making sexual conduct more flexible and expanding. He open mind allows you to explore previously unknown and now attractive terrain. New needs and opportunities arise that people, out of curiosity and interest, dare to cover” affirms the sexologist Laia Cadens. And she adds: “Women, for example, out of dissatisfaction or boredom, opened up new opportunities to satisfy their sexual needs. And they can do it discreetly with secure contacts through applications or also experimenting with other women to open up to new sensations and experiences, and seeing themselves from social acceptance”.

The report revealed another interesting finding related to unfulfilled wishes. 40% of those surveyed admitted to having fantasies of having same-sex relationships, despite socially identifying as heterosexual. However, only 17% took those fantasies online through “sexting” with someone of the same sex. In addition, the majority of the participants (96%) believe that it is possible to experience attraction to both sexes.

It is important to note that International Bisexuality Day, according to Amnesty International, arose in response to the prejudices and marginalization faced by bisexual people, both by some heterosexual people and within the LGBTIQ+ community itself. In line with this, users of the app confirmed that 90% believe that bisexuality still faces stigma. These results reinforce the importance of making visible and understanding the problems faced by the bisexual community.
