“Sure. I see myself fighting with Verstappen for a championship if we had the same car. Now Max is doing an incredible job, he is dominating with Red Bull,” Esteban Ocon said in an interview with DAZN from Spain.

“But I don’t care which driver it was. I want to fight for the championship. I have always believed in myself. We have a long road ahead of us, but my goal is to be world championnothing more,” added Ocon, who is in ninth place in the F1 Drivers’ Championship with 29 units.

In the current Formula 1 season, Max Verstappen has shown remarkable dominance by winning six of the eight races held so far, including Bahrain, Australia, Miami, Monaco, Spain and Canada.

In contrast, ‘Checo’ Pérez had an exceptional start to the season, scoring victories in Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan. However, in recent races he has experienced a decline that has resulted in a significant loss of points, falling behind Verstappen by a gap of 69 points.
