From a young age, Elle Fanning showed histrionic skills that led her to star in popular movies such as maleficent<\/em> Disney and been nominated for several awards, including an Emmy and a Golden Globe for the historical comedy The Great<\/em>, where the 25-year-old actress gives life to Catherine the Great. However, her rise to fame was not entirely pleasant.<\/p>\n

During the most recent Round Table of Comedy Actresses<\/em> of The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>which featured guests Ayo Edebiri, Devery Jacobs, Natasha Lyonne, Jenna Ortega, Sheryl Lee Ralph and Elle Fanning, the latter sharing an unpleasant experience that took place early in her career.<\/p>\n

the star of Super 8<\/em> revealed that she experienced sexualization from an early age after being rejected for a role during a process of casting<\/em> for a family comedy because it wasn’t \u201cdesirable\u201d enough.<\/p>\n

I was 16 and one person said to me, ‘Oh, she didn’t get the father-daughter road trip comedy because she’s unfuckable. It’s so disgusting. And now I can laugh about it, as if to say: ‘What a disgusting pig!’<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

When asked by her colleagues how she processed this unpleasant episode at the time, actress Dakota Fanning’s younger sister said:<\/p>\n

I’ve always had immense confidence in myself, but then again, you’re growing up in the public eye and it’s weird. I look at the paparazzi photos from when I was 12 and think: ‘Is it good to see a mirror of yourself at that age?’ I don’t feel like it hurt me, but it definitely made me very self-aware.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Fortunately, Elle, who recently revealed for the Happy Sad Confused podcast <\/em>who lost out on a role in a popular franchise due to her lack of followers on Instagram, said she always felt “very protected” as a child star in Hollywood because of her team.<\/p>\n

I have an amazing manager and agent who have been with me since I was eight or nine years old.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Although the actress now laughs about it, it is clear that the Hollywood industry is cruel, since both actors and actresses have been rejected for the most absurd reasons that have nothing to do with the most important thing, their talent.<\/p>\n
