There is very little left for the filming of ‘Gladiator 2’ to start, but there were still several details to be finalized. One of them was to close the deal, and there the long-awaited sequel has suffered a significant loss at the last minute, since barry keoghan<\/strong> (‘Inisherin’s Banshee’) will finally not be able to participate in the film and Fred Hechinger<\/strong> (‘The White Lotus’) is in negotiations to take his place.<\/p>\n

The return of Derek Jacobi<\/h2>\n

Otherwise, Ridley Scott<\/strong> has closed the main cast of ‘Gladiator 2’ with several signings, among which one stands out with its own light: Derek Jacobi<\/strong>. The protagonist of the essential series ‘Yo, Claudio’ gave life to Senator Graco in the first installment and here he recovers a character who died in the original version of the ‘Gladiator’ script. He ended up being saved, surely due to the fact that the unexpected death of Oliver Reed<\/strong> in real life it led to Pr\u00f3ximo passing away when the plan was for him to arrive alive at the end.<\/p>\n

In addition to Jacobi, the names of May Calamawy, Lior Raz, Peter Mensah and Matt Lucas<\/strong>. Of all of them, the most important signing seems to be that of Calamawy, seen last year in ‘Caballero Luna’, as Scott did an exhaustive casting job before choosing her. The premiere of ‘Gladiator 2’ has been set for the November 22, 2024<\/strong>. Scott repeats behind the scenes, while David Scarpa<\/strong>, who had already collaborated with the filmmaker on ‘All the money in the world’, is in charge of the script. The first installment was written by david franzoni<\/strong> (‘Friendship’), John Logan<\/strong> (‘Skyfall’) and william nicholson<\/strong> (‘Everest’).<\/p>\n
