Throughout this period, we have witnessed fresh ideas thanks to the emergence of directors capable of creating <strong>grotesque, mysterious and terrifying visions.<\/strong> To witness it, we present to you: the 10 most terrifying moments of the <strong>horror movies of the 21st century.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Moment 10: the appearance of the Medeiros Girl in <em>REC <\/em>(2007)<\/h2>\n<p>Jaume Balaguer\u00f3 and Paco Plaza managed in 2007 to make the whole world&#8217;s hair stand on end with their film <em>REC<\/em>in which we witness a kind of <strong>virus<\/strong> that turns the inhabitants of a building in Madrid into <strong>wild creatures.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At the end of the tape, we witness the appearance of a grotesque creature that wanders.  It is about the girl Medeiros, a very important character in the mythology of <em>REC<\/em>. There is no doubt that the Balaguer\u00f3-Plaza duo gave 21st century horror cinema one of its great products.<\/p>\n<h2>Moment 9: the pursuit of the girl by the Pale Man in <em>Pan&#8217;s Labyrinth<\/em> (2006)<\/h2>\n<p><em>Pan&#8217;s Labyrinth<\/em> It is one of the best films directed by the Mexican <strong>Guillermo DelToro<\/strong>.  It is a story of <em>Dark Fantasy<\/em> about a girl named Ofelia who knows the enigmatic and sinister world of fairies up close&#8230; which is not always accompanied by sweet moments.<\/p>\n<p>The most memorable and terrifying scene, of the many that this production has, is the one in which Ofelia has to flee from the <strong>Pallid man<\/strong>played by actor <strong>Doug Jones<\/strong>one of the most terrifying monsters born from del Toro&#8217;s imagination.<\/p>\n<p>The scene is one of absolute tension in which we only wish, with all our hearts, that little Ofelia manages to get out alive from that terrifying world where the Pale Man lives.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Pans Labyrinth | The pale man\" width=\"788\" height=\"443\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/1i3oRxm8G0o?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2>Moment 8: The zombies that run in the tunnel in <em>28 Days Later <\/em>(2002)<\/h2>\n<p>There is no doubt that the post-apocalyptic zombie movie <strong><em>28 Days Later<\/em><\/strong>  It is one of the best that has been born in the 21st century in terms of horror.  An epidemic turns humans into savage bloodthirsty creatures.  Contrary to many of the traditional stories of the living dead, the zombies in this production directed by <strong>Danny Boyle<\/strong> they move at high speed. I&#8217;m sure you&#8217;ve had a very hard time contemplating this intense chase.  This is one of the scariest moments in 21st century horror cinema.<\/p>\n<h2>Moment 7: The appearance of the Babadook in the mother&#8217;s room in <em>The Babadook <\/em>(2014)<\/h2>\n<p>How to forget that creepy word: <em>Drool-doook!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The feature film by the Australian director<strong> Jennifer Kent<\/strong> about a boy harassed by an evil creature and the way his mother has to deal with it is one of the most terrifying stories that 21st century horror cinema has given us.<\/p>\n<p>Its dark and suffocating atmosphere, an unforgettable monster and a story that shows us that childhood can be one of the most terrible stages in the life of a human being, make this <strong><em>The Babadook<\/em><\/strong>  one of the best horror productions of all time. But once the horror breaks loose, it&#8217;s fast-paced.  Much of the story takes place in a room, in which a punk band finds themselves in a situation they cannot get out of because of a group of <strong>Neo-Nazi skinheads.<\/strong> The gang has a gun, but is torn between trading it for their freedom.  That&#8217;s when all hell breaks loose.  The scenes are raw: there are fights and violent scenes, wrists are cut with a box cutter and things reach a point of no return. To record what happened, her boyfriend decides to install cameras in the rooms.  From there, the viewer will witness overwhelming images that culminate in the following scene, which was etched in the memory of the bravest moviegoers.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Paranormal Activity Night 20\" width=\"788\" height=\"443\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/AG8dvfbl0Xk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This independent film became a successful franchise that gave us a hard time due to its chilling scenes.  Definitely, <em>Paranormal Activity<\/em> He taught us that high-quality horror movies can be made using very simple resources and gave us one of the scariest moments in 21st century horror movies.<\/p>\n<h2>Moment 4: The appearance of the ghost on the stairs in <em>Ju-On: The Grudge <\/em>(2004)<\/h2>\n<p><em>Ju on<\/em> is the inheritance of <strong>japanese horror movies<\/strong>, which had a great boom in the United States and the rest of the world at the beginning of the 21st century.  This tape tells us the story of a house located in a modest neighborhood of Tokyo that keeps a terrible curse after a horrible murder occurred in it.<\/p>\n<p>The most chilling part of this production is, without a doubt, when the female ghost appears creeping up the stairs of the house. This film starring a superb <strong>Nicole Kidman<\/strong> and directed by the Spanish <strong>Alejandro Amenabar<\/strong>tells us the story of a woman who has to remain locked up in an old English mansion due to the illness of her children, who are intolerant of sunlight.<\/p>\n<p>This film contains several disturbing sequences and scenes, but none as terrible as the one where the girl reveals herself before our eyes as a creepy old woman&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"I Am Your Daughter - The Others (7\/11) Movie CLIP (2001) HD\" width=\"788\" height=\"443\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_LvUmxUqPTo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This tape makes us see how the gothic genre is something timeless, as are the fears of each one of us. <em>The Others<\/em> It is a classic of ghost movies that cannot be missing in your collection.<\/p>\n<h2>Moment 2: Final sequence of <em>hereditary <\/em>(2018)<\/h2>\n<p><strong><em>hereditary<\/em><\/strong>of <strong>Ari Aster<\/strong>, is one of the darkest nightmares of the new horror cinema of the 21st century.  In it, we attend the story of a family that is in mourning for the death of the grandmother.  Soon after, strange events begin to haunt each of the family members.  Gradually, we will discover that the grandmother had a past close to a kind of sect that worshiped a demon called <strong>Paimon.<\/strong> And it is right in that revelation when the scene that we present to you as one of the most terrifying in 21st century horror cinema takes place.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"El final de Hereditary [sub espa\u00f1ol]\" width=\"788\" height=\"443\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/df4PTDklX98?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>There is no doubt that <em>hereditary<\/em> It is already a classic of modern horror cinema, a film that no one can miss.  Watch alone and feel the fear run through your bowels.<\/p>\n<h2>Moment 1: The gigantic creature of <em>The Mist <\/em>(2007)<\/h2>\n<p>The adaptations to the big screen of the stories and novels of <strong>Stephen King<\/strong> do not always result in a good product, but <em>The Mist<\/em> it&#8217;s quite the opposite.
