Santander is a paradise for travelers from all corners of the world who find authentic culinary delights at its tables and bars that have made it a gastronomic stop for lovers of good food. In the tierruca the best of the sea and the best of the mountains coexist: anchovies, squid squid (and magano), mussels and snails, sorropotún, stews (lebaniegos and montañeses), their cheeses… And all without having to spend an arm and a leg on the experience.

Fuente Dé Winery

Calle de Peña Herbosa, 5 (39003)

This winery is defined by its unpretentious kitchen. In his menu the casseroles shine, the traditional rations and the recipes of a lifetime at a very good price. Above all, taking into account that the product is of quality and that its stews, both Lebaniego and Montañés, are a must.

The House of the Indian

Calle de Hernán Cortés, 4 (39003)

A Santander classic and much appreciated for its versatility, since it has a restaurant, gastrobar and bar. The place is located in the Mercado del Este and offers skewers and tapas that go from the classic to the contemporary: squid rings, mussels, clams, rejos… And, in the most risky part, we find their proposals for guacamoles, blood sausage with idiazábal gratin or its meat pintxos.

Meson Rampalay

Daoiz and Velarde Street, 9 (39003)

More than twenty pinchos stock its bar daily, although it also offers menu of the day and a menu characterized for the local product and some foreign winks. Its prices are reasonable, although it also offers treats such as seafood or meat (such as Cantabrian beef tenderloin) but, in general terms, it is an affordable restaurant.

South Days

Calle Hernán Cortés, 47 (39003)
