Today Internet is an indispensable basic in our day to day and social networks are already part of our DNA. While Instagram is used to post photos and Tiktok helps us hang out according to our preferences (from funny videos to others that deal with conspiracy theories and even discover new recipes for us), Twitter It is a good channel to show complaints that disturb us on a daily basis. This is where an American woman has decided to complain about the tips that Spaniards leave on their trips to the United States and, as expected, the responses have been wonderful.

Although many tend to say that Spain is different (followed by and I think that’s beautiful), for this American waitress, the visit of Europeans to the restaurant where she works is not nearly pretty. With a forceful tweet saying that “I hate Europeans sometimes. This table just left a $70 tip on a $700 bill after talking for hours. My manager even asked about your service and they were so happy.” about my service, so he explained that the usual tip is 20% and they said ‘ok’ and left”, we hallucinate again with the Spanish customs (or at a European level) that clash with the rest of the world.

Many users showed their support (and discontent towards European customers), but knowing that Spain is different the responses from many Spanish users have been hilarious (and wonderful).

Also, Instagram has not fallen short. This tweet has been exposed by the account @ceciarmy, accumulating more than 3,000 comments. While @ralphianism assured that “In Spain you pay 695 and say ‘Whatever is left over for the pot but put some shots'”, while @mescojonoprime he does not hesitate to say that “Americans in Spain leaving a euro as a tip 😕”.

There is no law that obliges diners to leave a tip to the restaurant worker who has personally served them, but in the United States, a tip is not an optional reward as thanks for their service. On the contrary, they are a measure that is applied to complement the low wages that employers pay their waiters. They are usually from 15% to 25%, although in many establishments the tip suggestions stipulate them from 20% to 30% (especially if you go in a group).
