With the first part of season 4 of ‘You’ recently released, we have Penn Badgley back in the role of the sinister and calculating Joe. However, the actor asked to limit sex scenes in this new season<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

“I do not want to do it”<\/h2>\n

In season 4 of the Netflix series, Penn Badgley returned to embody the protagonist. The actor, whom we already knew from ‘Gossip Girl’ or ‘Rumors and lies’, recently declared in a podcast that he asked to limit the sex scenes in this new batch of episodes:<\/p>\n

I asked Sera Gamble, the creator, “Can I not do any more intimate scenes this season?” In fact, this is a decision that she had already made before participating in the series. I don’t think I’ve ever said it in public but one of the main reasons is: “Do I really want my career to go back to when I was always the romantic lead?”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Another reason, as Badgley explains, is in relation to his marriage to singer Domino Kirke, sister of actresses Jemima Kirke (‘Girls’) and Lola Kirke (‘Mistress America’), with whom he has been married since 2017: “Fidelity in any relationship, especially marriage, is important to me”<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

“I got to a point where (I said to myself): ‘I don’t want to do it.’ So I said to Sera: From zero to one hundred, my desire is zero (sex scenes)<\/strong>” concluded the actor. It is not easy to determine how much the sex scenes should have been reduced in the new season, since ‘You’ has never been a series that is characterized by being explicit, precisely.<\/p>\n
