Before the iconic \u201cplastics\u201d of mean girls<\/em> existed, there was another group of women who paved the way for Regina George to be crowned queen bee. We refer to the pink ladies<\/em>recognized for appearing in the famous musical grease<\/em> (Vaseline<\/em>) from 1978, starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John.<\/p>\n

But Rizzo, Jan, Marty and Frenchie weren’t the first \u201cpink ladies\u201d, because before them there was another quartet of equally indomitable girls. Now, through the mind of screenwriter Annabel Oakes, we finally get to meet the first to claim that title of rebels with a cause.<\/p>\n

The television series, which has the Paramount+ seal, takes us back to the 50s, four years before the events of Vaseline,<\/em> at Rydell High School in California, United States, where we meet Jane, Nancy, Olivia and Cynthia. This female gang finds itself with the moral dilemma that reigned in those times, that of being good, quiet and perfect girls at the expense of their own fun and individuality.<\/p>\n

In addition, due to the advance of the series, which will have ten chapters of one hour each, we know that we will be reunited with a beloved character. This is Assistant Director McGee, previously played by Eve Arden in the original film, and who this time will be played by the magnificent Jackie Hoffman.<\/p>\n

The original Vaseline is absolutely perfect.’ But then I thought about it for a second and thought, ‘What unanswered questions do I have about Vaseline?’ It was all tied up really well with Danny and Sandy, but I was like, ‘What was up with the pink ladies?’ So I started googling and found that there were real pink ladies at the institute of the original creator of Grease, Jim Jacobs.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
