Unfortunately, allergies are an inherent feature of many people’s lives. Whether pollen or food, we all know the most common annoying allergens.
However, there are allergies so strange and surprising that they seem to be the product of the imagination of those who say they are vulnerable to them. For example, have you heard of the “gravity allergy”?
Lyndsi Johnson, 28, from Maine, USA, describes herself as “allergic to gravity” due to a rare condition that causes multiple symptoms, including fainting several times a day. The girl took to social media to raise awareness and share her experience with a very rare disease.
Intense headaches, dizziness, cold sweats, extreme tiredness, fainting and facial paralysis, all of these symptoms correspond to postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), the chronic disease that Lyndsi suffers from. For her, it is almost impossible to stand for more than ten minutes without losing consciousness, something that she considers a kind of “gravity allergy”.
As long as I remain horizontal, the pain levels remain bearable, but if I am upright for too long, I am in a lot of pain.

According to The IndependentAfter high school, Lyndsi fulfilled her dream by enlisting in the Navy, where she served as an aviation diesel mechanic.
However, in October 2015, she began experiencing abdominal and back pain, which made it increasingly difficult to carry out her duties, forcing her to leave the military after being diagnosed with POTS three years later.
According to him Daily MailBecause of the medication, her fainting spells have become less frequent, but other symptoms are still present, preventing her from performing many tasks on her own. For this reason, she depends on her husband, James, and her caregiver, who help her with many of her daily activities.
I can’t leave my house anymore. There is no cure, but I am so thankful for James and what I have.
Lyndsi has learned to accept the illness and hopes to move from the apartment the couple lives in to a house where she can spend more time outdoors.
For her, it is not about letting her condition take control of her life, which is why she is currently studying to dedicate herself to the music industry and continues with her greatest passion, artistic makeup.
Now it takes between one and six hours to do my makeup, but I’m so thankful that I can still do it.
