If the other day we showed you what time people usually have dinner in European countries -showing huge time differences-, now it’s time for lunch. Knowing that tourists often remind us that in other European countries you eat sooner than in Spain, there are schedules that have left us very crazy. While for many the 11 in the morning is the time for breakfastfor others it is time to start eating… And we don’t say it.
Norway and Finland the early risers
If one of the points that surprised us the most in the previous map was the Norwegians’ time, having dinner at 4:00 p.m., you have to be aware that their lunch time will also be soon. In this way, Norway and Finland prove to be the early risers, starting to eat at 11 in the morning to eat.
As expected, and as we have already seen on the previous map, the rest of the Nordic countries follow suit. In this way, in Sweden they usually start eating at 11:30, as in the Czech Republic, thus closing the list of countries that start eating earlier in all of Europe.
Starting at 12 noon we find a large list of countries such as the Netherlands, Germany, France, Portugal, Luxembourg, Austria… With hours that go from approximately 12 to 1:30 or 2:00 p.m.
In third place, and starting around 1:00 p.m., we find our neighbors, the Italians, Poland or Serbia. In last place, as we already expected, we, the Spaniards, with a schedule that usually oscillates between 1:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. and Greece extending its hours from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. If we think about it coldly, Greece and Norway overlap in schedules, because when some have finished eating, the others start to eat dinner.
Although in the comments there are many who do not agree with the statistics, others assure that the concept of food between one country and another is very different because in Spain or Italy the meals are copious, while in Norway with a couple of toasts with cheese already have enough.
