It’s been a long labor, but the last part of ‘Stone Ocean‘ has finally arrived on Netflix. A year has passed since Part 6 of ‘JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’ began airing on the platform and it left us with a tremendous break after its first batch of chapters, but we have finally been able to see the end of the anime of david production.
Now, assimilating everything that happens is not easy, especially when we mess with the crazy powers of certain Stands. So if the end of ‘Stone Ocean’ has left you a bit confused, let’s take a good look at what happens.
Obviously, there are spoilers for ‘JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’ Part 6, so be careful if you’re about to finish it!
straight to paradise
In the second batch of episodes, we already saw Enrico Pucci get away with it and merge with the Green Baby who has been born from DIO’s bone and the souls of 36 prisoners. In this new form, Father Pucci sets in motion DIO’s plan to reach paradise… and despite the efforts of Jolyne and the others in the end he manages to get away with it.
So unfortunately we have to present how our heroes die in a horrible way, and Pucci manages to recreate the universe to his liking with his Stand, Made in Heaven. Luckily Emporio manages to survive and also gain the powers of Weather Report, which allows him to finally eliminate Pucci.
This is where the complication comes in, since during this last confrontation and crossing of Stands, the universe resets again, giving rise to a reality that Pucci never existed in, or was unable to influence. And we finally find that Jolyne, Anasui and Ermes are still alive, although their lives have followed a very different course from those of the originals.
Araki hasn’t really given an official explanation, but we can assume that since Pucci never existed, after ‘Stardust Crusaders’, Jotaro was able to allow himself to live a quieter life and be present in his daughter’s life, which in this reality is called Irene Joestar instead of Jolyne. The different events of this reality have also affected Ermes, Anasuie, even Weather Report, who without Pucci’s influence have stayed away from Green Dolphin Prison.
Unfortunately FF does not exist in this reality, since without Pucci, White Snake and their records, plankton never gained consciousness or personality, although at least the anime leaves us a very nice closing image to remind them of. And with this “reboot”, we are left with a happy ending for everyone… Well, less so for Emporio, the poor guy has several years of therapy ahead of him.
Now what remains pending is to know if there will be more ‘JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’ anime. The next part, ‘Steelball Run’ is one of the most popular among fans, but David Production may want to close this long chapter with the Joestar and for now they have not ruled on whether or not they will continue with the franchise.
The final events of ‘Stone Ocean’ have restarted much of the universe and put an end to the conflict with DIOwith ‘Steelball Run’ and ‘JoJojolion’ taking place directly on their own plot unrelated to all the previous story. So it would be the perfect time for potentially another anime studio to want to take over the franchise and start their own anime version of ‘JoJo’. ‘ with a new starting point.
