On social networks, James Gunn revealed that the duration of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be longer than the two previous films
The end of an era is approaching with the premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, James Gunn’s final work in the ranks of Marvel Studios, whose duration is finally known approximately.

While cast members like Dave Bautosta confirmed that this will be the last time they will work with La Casa de las Ideas, James Gunn himself pointed out that on a narrative level, Rocket’s story will come to an end.
The longest movie in the saga
Through his Instagram account, the filmmaker confirmed that the duration of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be the longest film in the saga.
While the first part had a duration of 122 minutes, the sequel was extended to 137 minutes (2:17 hours), so this latest installment would even exceed 140 minutes.
The longest running movie in Marvel Studios history is Avengers: Endgame at 181 minutes, followed by Eternals at 156 minutes.
The end of an era
In March 2022, James Gunn accepted that although there was always great harmony between the cast and the production team on the film set, tears were the order of the day.
“They’re honestly great, I love this cast and crew, but there’s also a lot of sadness and almost daily tears knowing this is the last Guardians movie for most of us.”.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will feature a cast consisting of Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Zoe Saldaña as Gamora, David Bautista as Drax, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket Raccoon, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Pom Klementieff as the voice of Mantis and Karen Gillan as Nebula.
This production is joined by Will Poulter in the role of Adam Warlock and Chukwudi Iwuji as High Evolutionary, the villain of the plot.
Directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will hit theaters on May 5, 2023.
