After GQ magazine published its issue with Carol G. The cover story has generated multiple reactions. The artist herself spoke out in rejection of the photos with her modified face and body and after that even her father reacted by expressing his discontent.
Making it clear that she knew that her pronouncement could have an impact due to the millions of followers she has on social networks, the Colombian singer decided to raise her voice against the changes made to his photos and the indifference of the magazine to which he expressed his discontent before publication.
“I don’t even know where to start this message… Today my GQ magazine cover was released, a cover with an image that does NOT represent me. My face doesn’t look like this, my body doesn’t look like this and I feel very happy and comfortable with how I look naturally.“It was part of the text published by Karol G.
For his part, Guillermo Giraldo, the artist’s father, identified in networks as “Dad G”, did not hesitate to defend his daughter. The man supported the pronouncement of her offspring and stressed that her naturalness is enough for any cover and lashed out at the magazine.
“How disrespectful. Your natural image is everything… The editors of the magazine or recocha”, was the phrase with which Guillermo Giraldo accompanied the story on Instagram in which he uploaded the cover in which his daughter looks almost unrecognizable.
The reaction of Karol G’s father was one of millions, including artists like the Hollywood actress Jamie Lee Curtiswho He celebrated that the young singer promotes the natural beauty of people and expressed his forceful rejection of artificial intelligence.
Only the post on Instagram in which Carolina Giraldo spoke out in favor of her naturalness has more than 6 million “likes” and more than 140,000 comments applauding that she does not agree with unreal “touch-ups”.
