The return of ‘Avatar’ to theaters has been a great success, although in Spain we will still have to wait a little longer to enjoy it. We already knew that it was an improved version both visually and sonically, but what we may not have expected is that james cameron have added a new scene that serves as a preparation for the imminent arrival of ‘Avatar: The sense of water’.
What happens in the new scene of ‘Avatar’
Beware of ‘Avatar’ spoilers
The moment in question occurs in the final minutes of ‘Avatar’ when the humans are being escorted off Pandora. In the original montage of the film, there is a moment in which Parker, the character played by Giovanni Ribisi He focuses his gaze on Jake and Neytiri, but ends up moving on without actually saying anything.
Well, in this new version that changes, as Parker gets out of line and stands in front of them, to which Neytiri reacts by pulling out a knife to get her back in line to leave the planet. So, Parker looks at Jake and says “You know this isn’t over, right?” before returning to the line, being then where what we saw in theaters is resumed. A way to make it clear that the expulsion of humans from Pandora, with the exception of a few who decide to stay, It won’t be the end of the story.
That defiant attitude from Parker also makes it clear that Ribisi’s character should matter in ‘Avatar 2’ and the prevailing theory is that Parker could be the father of Spider, Jake and Neytiri’s adoptive human son.. In addition, some images of ‘Avatar: The sense of water’ seen in the D23 regarding Spider’s paternity will have weight in the long-awaited sequel.
However, for now all about what it could mean they are still theoriesbecause that possibility that he is Spider’s father opens the question of why Jake and Neytiri decided to keep a human baby or if they simply discovered late that the baby was there and in reality they do not know who his father really is.
What is evident is that Cameron would not have introduced such a detail randomly and that it is something that had already been filmed at the time and ended up deciding to leave it out. Now we will have to wait until December 16 to check it out. Also, let’s not forget that Cameron himself has promised us that ‘Avatar: Sense of Water’ is not predictable…
