With the new celebration of Star Trek has come some other novelty such as the fact that we already know the release date for season 3 and the last of ‘Star Trek: Picard’ and a teaser-trailer. Thus, the February 16, 2023 Paramount + will premiere the new episodes of the series that, we imagine, we will see internationally via Prime Video (unless SkyShowtime takes away that option).
Made up of ten episodes, this new season will be the final adventure for the legendary character of the franchise, played by Patrick Stewart. Also, as we learned as the second season unfolds, we will continue to have a ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ reunion.
A meeting of ‘The new generation’
In this way, together with Stewart, in the final season of ‘Star Trek: Picard’ they meet LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Jonathan Frakes, Gates McFadden, Marina Sirtis, and Brent Spineraccompanying the co-stars of the series Jeri Ryan and Michelle Hurd.
And be careful, as Patrick Stewart said at the time, these will not be mere cameos:
“We will meet them, but it is not a comeback at all. It is not a simple meeting. They each have their role and that’s all I can say, because I think what’s coming in Season 3 is very exciting. And, of course, there’s a lot of it in the way the characters we’ve known for so long have evolved.”
Of course, from Paramount + they have not revealed the plot details for these final episodes. However, in the trailer we see things like the destruction of the Federation HQ and a distress call that brings the gang back together. Terry Matalas is the main writer and showrunner.
