Taylor Sheridan’s empire and more specifically the ‘Yellowstone’ franchise adds and continues. the american platform Paramount+ has renewed ‘1923’ for a season 2, the second prequel to the Dutton saga (after ‘1883’).
The news does not take us too much by surprise since the premiere of the series, starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, broke records on the platform. So it seems that the data has remained high enough during this season, still on the air, for them to want to make a new installment.
Set in the twenties of the last century, ‘1923’ revolves around Jacob and Cara Dutton as they deal with pandemics, drought, and the end of Prohibition in Montana at the time. Along with Ford and Mirren, the cast includes Brandon Sklenar, Darren Mann, Michelle Randolph, James Badge Dale, Marley Shelton, Brian Geraghty, Aminah Nieves, Jerome Flynn and Julia Schlaepfer, among others.
Add and follow mark Dutton
for now there are no details about this second season. However, the precedent with ‘1883’ opens the possibility that it will not be what it seems. Let’s remember that Sheridan took that prequel as something for a single season and for the second installment he will tell the story of Bass Reeves, moving the focus of the Dutton family.
Speculations aside, you have to see the gold mine that Paramount has found both with Sheridan (which also has ‘Tulsa King’, ‘Mayor of Kingstown’…) and with ‘Yellowstone’. So strange that after five years it has still not been seen on Spanish streaming.
