The one on ‘Bosé’ last Friday was not the only biopic of a Spanish artist that has come a little later than it is supposed to. On this occasion for different reasons when closing in our country Lionsgate +, formerly known as Starzplay, of which this was an original series. Finally it has been Atresplayer the one that has premiered this Sunday ‘Nacho‘.
Composed of eight episodes, the miniseries tells us the story of Ignacio Jordà, better known by his stage name Nacho Vidal (Martiño Rivas) and how in the early 90s, Seeing himself without much of a future, he sets out to make a name for himself as an artist in adult shows… and the rest, as they say, is history.
Beyond 25 centimeters
Born in the Bamboo factory, which is already indicative of the level of production that we are going to find, The script led by Teresa Fernández-Valdés as showrunner bets on the festive and the playful in what recounts Nacho’s young years and his beginnings in an incipient pornography industry.
Already seeing the trailer suggests that this biography is going to be quite casual and, of course, it gives what it promises in that sense. Without ignoring certain family dramas (the depression into which his father falls) or friends, ‘Nacho’ she appears unruly at all times and even comic when telling the story of the subject.
His casual tone does not mean that when it is his turn he does not throw a certain gravity to aaSome of the most controversial topics in the porn industry. The meeting with Rocco Siffredi in the fourth episode directly hits the nerve when talking about consent even when there are contracts involved. What is part of the agreement and what, directly, is violation.
As just the episodes that have been sent to the press leave us just at that moment I don’t know if this is a mirage Or if other controversies will be addressed again in what we see as a turning point and a new step in Nacho Vidal’s career. However, it is seen as good intentions when it comes to not staying in frivolity.
Another success that the series has is its striking cast. Both Rivas and Nacho as Maria de Nati like Sara seem to have been born for these roles. Furthermore, swarming we have Andres Velencoso surprisingly well Toni or an always funny edu soto (which has a particularly painful scene, you have been warned).
In short, ‘Nacho’ It is a biopic that is very successful in not taking itself seriously. It’s as suggestive and sexual as it is playful and frantic in its pacing, and generally quite thought-out for an audience that doesn’t want an intensive x-ray of the pornographic industry. This is not, for example, ‘The Deuce’ nor does it pretend to be.
