“The Prince of Salsa,” Luis Enrique joins talents with C4 Trio to headline a night of salsa at The Soraya, located at Cal State University Northridge in the San Fernando Valley. The night will be one in a million, marking Nella’s stage debut in Los Angeles – traveling from New York for this unparalleled collaboration. The winner of the Latin Grammy for Best New Artist in 2019 was born Nella Rojas on the Venezuelan island of Margarita. She was catapulted to fame with the combination of a powerful voice and an undeniable theatrical presence and in a very short time she went from being a graduate of Berklee College of Music to winning the 2019 Latin Grammy Award.
With a unique fusion of the roots of Venezuelan folklore, avant-garde production and decidedly Andalusian inspiration, their particular sound impacts every corner of the world. Performing to sold-out venues in the United States, Venezuela, Mexico, Spain and the United Kingdom, he has also accompanied international artists such as Alejandro Sanz, Jennifer López, Carlos Vives, Luis Enrique, Susana Baca, Los Amigos Invisibles, Monsieur Periné , Cyanide Candy and Guaco as soloist.
Luis Enrique, performing as part of his 2022 “Trayectoria” tour, will take control of the stage singing big fan favorites and various numbers in collaboration with C4 Trio and Nella – performances that will only be witnessed at The Soraya!
With an impressive record of four Latin Grammy Awards, four Lo Nuestro Awards, and many other achievements, Luis Enrique is undoubtedly one of the most outstanding Nicaraguan singer-songwriters of all time. Better known as “The Prince of Salsa”, this artist has a versatility that has placed him as one of the best percussionists in Latin music.
His collaborations with stars of the height of Gloria Estefan, Ricky Martin and producing for Chayanne, Arturo Sandoval, Alex Acuña and Collective Soul stand out, just to mention a few luminaries.
Nella and Luis Enrique will be joining the C4 Trio, a group reputed to have taken the Venezuelan cuatro, their country’s national instrument, to levels of international recognition. Made up of three great performers of cuatro, the band is made up of: Jorge Glem, Hector Molina, Edward Ramírez, as well as bassist Rodner Padilla.
Since winning their Latin Grammy Award in 2014, the group has practically toured the entire world and are considered to be the best cuatro players on the planet. Their performances form a musical journey without borders where they project their own repertoire with improvisations that integrate segments of jazz, folklore and popular music.
