“We have been working on this for years. We will be shooting it in Norway, and it will be a motorcycle jumping from a clip to a base jump. I’ve wanted to do it since I was a little kid. It all comes down to one thing: the public.
As Cruise explains, the stunt has the actor riding a motorcycle at high speed down the side of a cliff, at which point he leans over to perform a base jump through the sky. The clip shows the grueling preparation Cruise undertook to execute the scene, including over 500 parachute jumps and 13,000 motocross jumps. At the end of the clip, McQuarrie tells the camera that the only thing that scares him more is what he has planned for the next film in the ‘Mission: Impossible’ franchise.
