Until a few years ago, Tinto de Verano was one of the few alcoholic soft drinks that were available in the summer months. Luckily for many, La Casera put on sale a version with white wine for those less passionate about dark wine.
Ingredients and nutritional value
Although on a terrace with friends we do not usually consider how many calories our Tinto de Verano or Distinto will have, it is interesting to know what they are made of in order to know which is healthier.
Distinct It is composed of “carbonated water, Verdejo variety white wine, grape must (10%) and lemon juice (0.8%) from concentrates, acidity regulators: citric acid and sodium citrate, aromas, preservative: potassium sorbate, sweeteners: sodium cyclamate , sodium sacharine«.
On the other hand, the summer red of La Casera is made up of «carbonated water, red wine, grape must (11%) and lemon juice (0.8%) from concentrates, acidity regulators: citric acid and sodium citrate, aromas, sweeteners: sodium cyclamate, acesulfame K and E-954 , preservative: potassium sorbate, stabilizers: E-414, E-445, E-444«.
Regarding the nutritional values of both products, the difference in calories is quite significant for each 330 ml serving:

Which is healthier?
The truth is that neither of the two drinks are recommended. Although they are light in alcohol (less than 5º), they have a percentage that can affect health. Therefore, it would be recommended to opt for versions 0’0 of the same brand.
But, as for these two drinks, taking into account their nutritional values, it is clear that Distinto is less caloric. Normally, white wines tend to have more sugar than red wines, but when Verdejo is used, its notes of acidity prevail in the drink. Plus, they pretty much contain the same amount of ingredients; only the type of wine used varies.
Logically, this type of soft drink is lower in calories and has a lower percentage of alcohol, unlike if we made it by hand. Therefore, we should not trust the equivalence of these La Casera products with an artisan mixture of wine and soft drink.
Being non-recommended drinks, it is preferable to consume them occasionally and punctually. Therefore, either of the two is left to free choice. Since they are going to be taken at specific times, it is better to enjoy the one that we like the most.
