Pontevedra preserves one of the most important and elegant historical centers of Galicia. Next to the Pontevedra estuary, the old city extends its network of streets and squares that hold important civil and religious buildings. Here, everything is one step away. And there are authentic treasures to see, such as the gold jewelry collection of the Museo de Pontevedra, unique in Europe, with splendid jewelery dating back more than 4,000 years. Although the Basilica of Santa María, the Ruins of Santo Domingo or the Church of San Bartolomé are other jewels outside of any museum. Same as any of these other plans.
Torres Arcebispais Interpretation Center
This museum offers a new vision of medieval Pontevedra. Inside, the archaeological remains of the old Pazo Fortaleza de las Torres Arzobispales from the 12th century are explained and shown throughout history. The building was built underground, taking advantage of the defensive moat discovered during the works on Avenida de Santa María. The structure also includes the pillars of a drawbridge for access to the fortress.
Route of Vilas Termais
Although it may not seem like it, there is no better occasion to enjoy the thermal pools than a rainy day. Is UA feeling that should be had at least once in a lifetime. One of the greatest claims of Galicia is to be able to bathe surrounded by vegetation and in the middle of nature both in summer and in winter. And it is that the mineral waters that sprout from the underground layers of the earth, in addition to having medicinal and therapeutic properties, have a pleasant temperature of about 30 degrees. For this, do not miss the Ruta das Vilas Termais de Pontevedra: Caldas de Reis, Catoira, Cuntis, Mondariz-Balneario, O Grove, Ponte Caldelas and Vila de Cruces.
Museum of Pontevedra

@españaescultura.es
It is considered one of the most important provincial museums in Spain and recognized as one of the museums most representative of Galician history, archeology and art. It was founded in 1927 with the aim of turning it into a study center and promoting knowledge about Galician culture in its different manifestations over time. However, the museum’s funds are distributed among five different locations: the Santo Domingo Convent, the Sarmiento Palace, the Castro Monteagudo building, the García Flórez building and the Fernández López building. Perfect to dedicate a different rainy day to each one.
