Everyone, absolutely everyone talks about the series of the moment: the house of the dragon on HBO Max. And it is that the sequel to Game of Thrones has come at the right time, when the hype of stranger things (although we are still debating about series theories like this) and many of us have returned from vacation wanting to disconnect.
We got in tune before its premiere with some chapters of Game of Thrones that could help us understand what will happen and it is one of the most anticipated premieres of the year, so everything that surrounds the series catches our attention.
In the house of the dragon There will be no lack of dragons, obviously, but neither will blood and sex scenes, as its first chapter has shown us. The series is wonderful, not only for its exquisite production, but for a tangled plot in the Targaryen house of which we have already been able to see some brushstrokes but that hides much more.
Jumps in time in the style of The Crown
Although the story on which it is based, the book Blood and fire by George RR Martin covers 200 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryenthis season starts at a key moment in history (the birth of a possible heir to the Iron Throne), but it won’t keep that year too long because in the middle of the season we will have a jump of a decade and the leading actresses will change.

The characters of Rhaenyra and Alicent in their teens are played by Milly Alcock and Emily Carey, who later give way to Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke.
Fire and Blood (A Song of Ice and Fire): 300 years before Game of Thrones. (Targaryen Dynasty: House of the Dragon)
This structure, more like the way The Crown deals with the evolution of its characters, it does not resemble Game of Throneswhich retained the leading actors and actresses from the first season.
You will see at least 17 different dragons
As with the human characters, each dragon has its own look but also its own personality. We could sense something Game of Thrones, but in this prequel that work with the dragons goes much further. Being a series set in a time in the books when dragons did exist, the cities were prepared for it. Saddles, dragon guards, trainers and even a resting place for these fantastic animals.
Shakespeare and the fight against patriarchy in the same series

In shaping the first season of the house of the dragonthe showrunners realized that the plot had to address a premise: “the patriarchy would rather destroy itself than see a woman on the throne”, as explained in an interview. and it is just that fight that we will see in the series.
The plot is visceral, powerful and above all, human. All the characters have lights and shadows, like in a Shakespeare play. Don’t expect a Jon Snow always doing the right thing, or an Eddard Stark. There will be no Arya or any “good” character, because they will all do good and bad things as humans. George RR Martin explained that in the series “everyone is human. They do good things. They do bad things. They are motivated by lust for power, jealousy, old hurts, just like human beings. Just as I wrote them.”
Ten chapters that will be released weekly in hbo max and that after these curiosities, we still want to see.
