one of the stars of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has talked about how they honored the memory of the late Chadwick Boseman
The first film of Black Panther 2018 starring Chadwick Boseman was a huge success for Marvel Studios with both critics and audiences. Boseman was introduced to the MCU in Captain America: Civil War in 2016, and had two other participations in Avengers: Infinity Warwhere Wakanda had a major role in the film and later in the epic final battle of Avengers: Endgame.
Boseman ultimately passed away in August 2020 from colon cancer, which he was first diagnosed with in 2016. He never spoke publicly about his illness; in fact, only a few people who were not from his family knew about it. In light of Boseman’s passing. Director of Black Panther 2Ryan Coogler recast the film to serve as the ultimate tribute to the late actor. Plot details are still being kept under wraps, but there have been signs that Wakanda Forever will act as a sendoff for Boseman’s T’Challa. This is backed by Marvel, who currently stand by their decision not to bring back T’Challa with a recast or recreate the actor with CGI.
The crew honored his memory during filming
In an interview with VarietyLetitia Wright talks about how the team at Black Panther: Wakanda Forever paid tribute to the late actor during production. She describes how the team took responsibility for the franchise that Boseman started, and the ability to overcome any obstacle that got in their way.
“We honor him by committing ourselves to this story that he started, the legacy that started with this franchise. And we made a commitment every day to work hard no matter what circumstances we face. And we face many circumstances! Many difficulties. Situations, but we came together as a team and put everything into this movie, so I’m excited for you guys to see it.”

The sequel to Black Panther a tribute to Chadwick Boseman
Beyond comments from cast and crew, it’s still not entirely clear how the Black Panther sequel will address the loss of Boseman. Still, the likes of Lupita Nyong’o and Angela Bassett have spoken out about feeling the actor’s presence on set and striving to honor him with Wakanda Forever. While there are plenty of fans who want to see a T’Challa recast, there has yet to be any official movement on that possibility. However, even if T’Challa isn’t seen on screen, it sounds like he and Boseman will still make his presence felt in a big way. Wright’s comments back that up, and it could mean that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever It will be the perfect way for Boseman fans to properly process his passing.
Boseman was seen in the world as one of the greatest symbols of inspiration for the black public, he was an example both in front of and behind the screen. His death is still mourned to this day, and he will mourn for years to come because of the mark he left.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Still highly anticipated by Marvel fans around the world, one of their greatest hopes is that it honor the late actor’s legacy in a respectful and meaningful way. If Wright’s words are to be taken seriously, it looks like the upcoming sequel will do just that.
The film will be released in theaters on November 22, 2022.
