The third season of Smallville saw an episode of actress Adrianne Palacki playing the first version of Kara Zor-El, Kal-El’s cousin, this was not the final version, which was played by Laura Vandervoot.
The beginnings in acting
Laura Vandervoot was born on September 22, 1984 in Toronto, Canada, the city where she spent her childhood and adolescence, excelling in various sports disciplines such as gymnastics, soccer, softball, basketball, and karate, where she holds a second degree black belt.
At the age of 13, Vandervoot got his first break on shows like Goosebumps and Are You Afraid of the Dark?, which opened the door for him to different commercials and TV movies, up to the CTV series Instant Star.
The Girl of Steel appears
In 2006, Vandervoot began to attract the attention of television in the United States, appearing on CSI and in the film The Lookout, which allowed her to be selected by the producers of Smallville for the seventh season.
Vandervoot was a regular cast member in the seventh season, while in the eighth and tenth seasons the Canadian only appeared as a guest in a few episodes. “I’m a little upset that Kara didn’t get to say goodbye to Clark in person. She only saw him from afar. But overall, ‘Smallville’ is fantastic and they did a great job.”.
What happened after Smallville?
After appearing in Smallville, Vandervoot achieved one of her most important roles as the protagonist of the series V, which was a remake of a 1984 program. While in the cinema, the Canadian was part of the cast of tapes such as Ted and Jigsaw .
