This hotel located in the heart of this city recently inaugurated the Tunki terrace in collaboration with the legendary speakeasy bar handshakerecognized last year as one of “The 50 Best Bars in the World”.
Tunki, named after the official bird of Peru, will offer exclusive cocktails, authentic Peruvian cuisine and incomparable views of the Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel and surroundings.
The fusion of vibrant Mexican and Peruvian gastronomy creates an incomparable experience for guests, as ingredients from both cultures blend perfectly to achieve a pairing of exquisite flavors. Its menu is inspired by the three magical regions of Peru: Coast, Jungle and Sierra and will be the ideal complement to the creative mixology of Tunki Rooftop by Handshake.
Among the most outstanding cocktails are the “Tunki Spritz”, made with Aperol, coconut, Prosecco and soda, as well as “Cariño”, a fresh and creamy aperitif with Bacardi 8 rum, yellow Chartreuse, vanilla, lemon and Greek yogurt. There is also a selection of herbal infusions such as the long and bittersweet “Fig Americano”, made up of Di Battista Bitter, Cinzano Rosso, fig leaf and soda.
Small tapas designed to share, from carretillero ceviche and trout tiradito in yellow chili sauce to charapa chaufa with glazed pork ribs and panchamanca chicken, are part of the menu, which is made with local products.
Regarding its design, the bar is dyed dark and presents wood carved by local artisans. It also has a beautiful hand-painted tile backsplash in bespoke colors, as well as camel-colored saddle leather stools.
