During the promotional tour of the film the protagonist, halle bailey, gave a series of interviews in which he revealed behind-the-scenes aspects of ‘The little Mermaid’, like the most difficult scenes that he had to live, which is very representative of the original film.
The film premiered on May 26 and just in its first week of release it is considered one of the highest grossing films of this year, since in the United States, Canada and Mexico it is already within the first places.

“All day we were trying to get it right and they finally got a take they really liked,” he recalls.
halle bailey The 23-year-old said that the reason it took so long was because, unlike a computer animation, it was very difficult to keep the hair in the right direction, and even the hair extensions they used were twice as heavy when wet.
“It was a lot of fun to do, however difficult because my hair is so heavy. I’ve had ‘dreadlocks’ since I was 5 years old and they look like wool when wet, so they get heavier. They almost double their weight when wet.” .
Even Halle She explained that an assistant helped hold her hair so that she could bear all the weight, since the scene was repeated multiple times.
“A stuntman would hold my hair underwater and then toss it to me as I came up, so it didn’t feel like a weight on my shoulders. So we did it multiple times to get it right. He looks great and perfect in the animated movie, so we tried to recreate him in real life, ”the actress finished.
