A deleted scene from ‘Shazam!’ has resurfaced in the online world because it seemed to have hinted at the arrival of ‘Black Adam’ to the DC Universe. Given his history as Billy Batson’s nemesis, many fans expected the character to make a cameo appearance, but he didn’t, as the film focused on Mark Strong’s villain, Doctor Sivana, and setting up a future showdown with Mr. Mind.
The missing “family” member?
Also, Black Adam’s backstory was noted when Thaddeus Sivana meets the wizard (Djimon Hounsou) at the beginning of the film, when he is told the story of a previously chosen champion. according to the magician that champion gave in to a desire for revenge, and his subsequent actions were responsible for the release of the Seven Deadly Sins. Although the champion does not have a name, the story shares many similarities with the origin of Black Adam.
Nevertheless, a deleted scene suggested Black Adam more directly. The clip shows Billy and his entire Shazam family officially settling into what they now consider to be their superhero lair, the “Family of Thrones.” Billy takes the center seat, with Freddie and the rest taking the seats on either side of him. However, it doesn’t take long for Mary to realize that the numbers don’t quite match up.
The scene may not have been referring to Black Adam at all, but to a different character; but that seems unlikely. Definitely, the reason the scene was left on the cutting room floor It will prove as mysterious to fans as the identity of the missing council member is to the Shazam family.
