For years, leather jackets have earned a place in the pole position of garments that have to be part of our wardrobe. The rage that street style feels for them does not diminish one bit, showing that against all odds this piece is timeless, versatile and suitable for everyone (and ages). The only problem comes when we have to clean it: leather is such a delicate material that it requires some care, however we have the perfect trick to clean our jacket with a current product and that is usually in our dresser.
How to clean a leather jacket at home
Leather jackets are cool, but they are made of a very sensitive and porous material that makes us take extreme precautions during use (and afterwards). It is important to know how to take care of this type of garment so that it lasts over time and looks “new” over the years.
To be able to clean a leather jacket at home quickly and easily, we will only need a little micellar water or make-up remover. We will rub the dirty area until the stain disappears and carefully remove the remains of the product with a well-wrung damp cloth.

We can also clean with a solution of vinegar and water. When cleaning the garment we must be very careful as we could discolor the area that we are interested in cleaning, worsening the result. Always wipe with care.
How to clean the lining of a leather jacket at home
Although cleaning our leather jacket is not something that we will do regularly, what we can clean more frequently is its inner lining. Being in direct contact with people’s clothing and skin, it can cause dirt and bad odors.
To clean it without damaging the garment, we will mix water with a little liquid detergent. Moistening a cloth with this mixture, we will pass it through the entire lining, especially in the armpits and cuffs. If the bad smell does not go away, we can always add a bit of Fabric Odor Eliminator Spray.
