If we want to watch anime series and movies via streaming, luckily today it is becoming easier and more accessible. Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney+ have already been jumping on the bandwagon and Crunchyroll is directly the queen of mambo in terms of platforms specialized in anime. But now in Spain has jumped into the arena AnimeBoxa new direct platform from select vision which also promises dubbing and classic series.
anime and much more
a few days ago AnimeBox appeared on networks with a mysterious message, but has finally confirmed that this week it is taking off as a streaming platform. If we are fans of watching anime in the original version, of course, this option is maintained, but also promises that we will be able to hear all its content dubbed into Spanish and that many of the series and films in its catalog also include dubbing in other languages such as Catalan and Basque.

The complete catalog of AnimeBox has not yet been confirmed but it will include more modern series such as ‘Shingeki no Kyojin’, ‘Kimetsu no Yaiba’ and ‘Naruto’ but also other classics like ‘Ranma ½’, ‘Slayers’, ‘InuYasha’ or ‘Conan, The Child of the Future’.
As for movies, in addition to the ‘Dragon Ball’ and ‘One Piece’ movies, we will also have ‘Akira’ and ‘Perfect Blue’. AnimeBox promises that on the platform we will also be able to see interviews with anime directors and producers, making of and other extras, in addition to some content in real action such as Martial Arts cinema. And to put the icing on the cake, we will also have free simulcasts with the premieres of Japan.
Obviously, there is different subscription levels and some bring juicier things depending on what we are willing to pay. All plans include free access to simulcasts and there is also the possibility of an annual plan with a discount for the launch of the platform:
- Konnichiwa: the free subscription that allows us access to the simulcasts, connection from a device, and the possibility of renting movies.
- Tomodachi, for €5.99: It allows us access to simulcasts, access to all content except premium movies, and connection from a device.
- Sensei, for €7.99: It allows us access to the simulcast, access to all content including premium movies and connection from two devices.
- Kami-Sama, for €39.99 per year: everything included in the Sensei plan with 2 free months. Once the offer ends, this annual plan will become €79.99
With all this it seems select vision has finally decided to set up his own streaming service and that his catalog goes to AnimeBox, although this does not mean that it will stop being available on other streaming platforms, at least for now. Nor do we expect everything from the distributor to be on the platform from day one, but perhaps little by little its content will expand.
AnimeBox take off all this March 23, 2023 and it will be available both in a web version and in a mobile App (IOS and Android), so we will have to keep an eye out to see what else is coming to the platform.
