This summer cinema, a concept that we have loved since we discovered it in grease (although there is Drive-in movies like the ones we show you here), is named cinecycle and it will be available in September in various spaces in Madrid. The first film will be screened on September 9, princess of africa Juan Laguna, and can be enjoyed for free from 9pm, but yes, if you pedal.

The magic of this summer cinema is that the film is projected using the energy coming from the human force. It doesn’t mean that you’re going to spend two hours watching the movie, but rather that the attendees will pedal in turns to give enough power to this portable cinema projection system.

    Summer Cinema Cinecicleta

The concept was born from Isabel Segura, a Forestry Engineer, and Carmelo López, a swimming and robotics teacher. Together they started this culturally, socially and technologically sustainable project that began to develop on a journey through Africa. With it they wanted to give access to anyone and anywhere in the world, to cinemahis passion.

Now it arrives in Madrid and between September 9 and 23 it can be enjoyed in various spaces, starting with the CIEA Dehesa de la Villa where the first film will be screened on September 9 at 9:00 p.m..

At the CIEA El Huerto del Retiro on September 16, you can see Africa by cinecycle by Juan Zavala, the documentary that tells the story of Isabel and Carmelo’s journey through Africa. And on September 23, at the CEAC Maris Stella you can see the short Made in Spain, Binta and the great idea Y Welcome of Javier Feser. You may consult here all times and addresses.

cinema and sustainability united in a very original plan in Madrid.
