Known as street art, urban or street art it is that artistic intervention with which, instead of having to go to a museum to be able to contemplate it, it is she who finds us by surprise in the middle of the city. It is accessible and democratic art and that is why we like it so much. And if you are also one of ours, you cannot miss this mural that aspires to be the best in the world.
Street Art Cities, which are known as “the largest street art community in the world”, elaborate an annual list of the best murals globally and has just published the list with the 100 finalist works that aspire to become the best in the world in 2022.
These graffiti are spread over 92 cities in 30 countries but we don’t have to go very far to see some of them, since our country opts for the award with a total of 29 murals spread throughout our geography.
In fact, if you live or are passing through the capital, you have a plan with Athena & Minerva. A work with an area of 138 square meters by the Catalan artist Uriginal, who was commissioned by Livensa Living to intervene in their new building. Thus, to contemplate this work of art you have to look at the façade of number 40 of Monte Valdelatas avenue, in Alcobendas.
With her colorful style as a base, Uriginal fuses Athena, goddess of war and civilization, with Minerva, goddess of wisdom and the arts, but passing them through a modern filter. The goal is to create a allegory of strength and wisdom, represented by a woman.
