On July 27, an Australian mining company based in Angola announced the discovery and extraction of a 170-carat rough pink diamond, considered one of the largest found in the last 300 years.
The diamond was named La Rosa de Lulo and was discovered in the Lulo mine, in the northeast of the diamond-rich African country.
The Lucapa Diamond Company claimed that La Rosa de Lulo is one of the largest pink diamonds ever found.
In addition to being one of the largest diamonds, the jewel corresponds to the type IIa diamond group, one of the rarest and purest forms of natural stones.
This spectacular pink diamond recovered in Lulo continues to position Angola as a major player on the world stage.

According to the mining company, the diamond will be sold in an international tender. However, it is still unknown what the initial sale price will be, as well as the date and place where it will be held.
