Many shocking characters appear in the movie Doctor Strange 2, but there is one that was eliminated and now we know why.
Attention SPOILERS. The movie Doc Strange 2 It can already be seen in theaters and it is a tremendous success, since it has raised more than 810 million dollars. Fans can enjoy a great adventure in the multiverse with lots of different versions of the best characters. But what stands out the most is that they introduce the illuminati and that Scarlet Witch she is the great villain, a role that was originally intended for another. More specifically to: Nightmare.
Now the writer michael waldronreveals that he eliminated Nightmare from the original script Doc Strange 2:
“There were different things. I think it’s been reported that there was once talk of Nightmare and things like that. But when I got on board, it was a story from the Multiverse. And it was always about figuring out who that multiversal adversary was going to be.”
“When I originally arrived in February 2020, Sam Raimi and I inherited the story that Scott Derrickson and Jade Bartlett, the original writer on the project, had worked on. He had a lot of great ideas, and initially we were going to try to figure out our side of that story in time to start shooting the movie in May. Then COVID happened a month later, and the movie was pushed back, which gave us an opportunity to start over and re-examine what we wanted Doctor Strange 2 to be.”
Which Spider-Man: No Way Home came out earlier also changed things.
“For Spider-Man 3 to come first, it meant that Stephen Strange had already had some real experience with the Multiverse, that he had already been on a Multiversal adventure. This is not his first rodeo, so to speak. That recontextualizes the way you approach Doctor Strange 2. He understands the dangers of that more.”
“I had been on an adventure with kids before this, and I think that might be the biggest thing that would affect how I would interact with America Chavez. She wasn’t a totally unknown quantity to him when it came to relating to a teenager.” concluded michael waldron.
