Variety reported that Matt Reeves is developing three spin-off series of The Batman, one more than originally planned.
What series about the Batman Universe is Matt Reeves preparing?
The two series that had been previously confirmed are Penguin, starring Colin Farrell, who will play the villain again, now on the small screen.
Another of the series confirmed within this universe of The Batman is Arkham Asylum, which will tell the most heartbreaking stories of the inmates in this infamous asylum.
The third project Reeves is reportedly working on, in addition to preparing the story for the sequel to The Batman, is Gotham Police Department GCPD, which will be inspired by Ed Brubaker and Greg Rucka’s Gotham Central.
Prior to the premiere of The Batman, Reeves himself indicated that the Gotham Central project had evolved into Arkham Asylum, but Variety’s reports by Joe Otterson ensure that Gotham Central and Arkham Asylum are two different projects in this universe.
