The 70th edition of the San Sebastian International Film Festival has suffered a significant loss. Glenn Close, who was going to chair the Official Jury this year, has confirmed that will not attend the festival celebration due to “a family emergency”.
Absence at the festival
The actress Glenn Close, known for her performances in films such as ‘Fatal Attraction’, ‘Dangerous Liaisons’ or the series ‘Damage and Damages’, was the star signing to chair the Official Jury of this edition of the San Sebastian Festival.
Finally, Close that will not be able to attend the festival, which opens its doors from tomorrow. According to a statement she has shared, her absence due to family matters:
I deeply regret not being able to participate in the festival due to a family emergency that requires me to stay home. I apologize to the festival, the jury, the filmmakers, the Donostia Awards and the festival audience, for not being able to be there to celebrate with them.

The San Sebastian Festival begins on September 16 and will end on September 24.
