Since the premiere of his first —and fantastic, it must be said— installment under the title of ‘The Warren File: The Conjuring’, the people of Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema has firmly committed to its own horror universe popularly known as the WarrenVerse with a good handful of sequels and spin-offs that, yes, have not been entirely consistent in terms of quality.
Don’t stop the scares
But that’s the least of it, because the good box office results of the successors to the foundation stone laid by James Wan, and of the equally brilliant sequel ‘The Enfield Affair’ have prompted the company to greenlight a fourth numbered feature film which, hopefully, will continue to terrify the respectable after the acceptable ‘Forced by the devil’.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, ‘The Conjuring 4’ —’Warren File 4′ on our land—is now officially underway. In addition, it has transpired that the scribe David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrickauthor of the scripts of the second and third parts and of both ‘Aquaman’ will be in charge of shaping the libretto of the film, whose plot details remain a mystery.
Although there is no official confirmation, the source points out that Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are expected to return to once again bring to life the paranormal investigator duo of Ed and Lorraine Warren. As for the director who will be in charge of staging and a potential release datenothing is closed at this time either, so we can only celebrate the news while we wait for news about it.
