Last April, the entire country and the world was shocked by the discovery of the lifeless body of the 18-year-old Debanhi Escobar, who was found in the cistern of a motel in the state of Nuevo León, Mexico, after 13 days missing.
Due to the inconsistencies of the case, the investigation folder continues and it was thus that a second autopsy was ruled, which was carried out recently and which showed a contrast with the first carried out by the Nuevo León Prosecutor’s Office when his body was found.
Felipe Edmundo Takeshi Medina, director of the Institute of Expert Services and Forensic Sciences of the Superior Court of Justice of Mexico City, an instance that collaborated in the new opinion, declared at a press conference that the cause of death of the young woman was due to suffocation by suffocation, in its variety of obstruction of respiratory openings.
In addition, he added that no evidence was found that Debanhi had been a victim of sexual violence. He also stated that the interval post-mortem established is three to five days from the location of the victim, that is, the young woman had been dead for three to five days when her body was found.
In addition to these statements, Takeshi Medina completely ruled out that the reason for his death was suffocation due to submersion. This means that the speculation that the young woman did not die from the fall in the cistern is true and that she would be talking about an obvious femicide.
The results of this second procedure differ from the first autopsy, which on April 22 showed that Debanhi died of a deep contusion to the skull.
On the other hand, Mr. Mario Escobar, father of the young woman, clarified that they will continue to search for the truth.
